Reality Show

My rep emailed Friday. He's started shopping my pitch around to several production companies we decided to target. One has slammed the door in his face, a second has given him permission to send along the pitch and he has a call into a third that, as of Friday afternoon, had not gotten back to him.

All in all, not a bad first time out so far.

Stay TOOned!

Flu? Head Cold? I don't Know....

I have been sidelined by a mock flu for the last week. No idea what I've got, but it sucks. Seems to be going around the school I work at.

I'll be back.....

Real Ghostbusters and Terry Francona!

Happy days. I just ordered all 140 episodes of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon series. Cooper is gonna go nuts. And the Sox gave Terry Francona a three-year extension, so Daddy is going nuts.

Back-to-Back baby!

All is right with the world.

Spiderwick

Finally got to the movies last night. Took in The Spiderwick Chronicles. Have not read the books, and knew nothing about the story. I enjoyed the film. It was fun-filled fantasy that, at the very least, whet the appetite between Potter films.

I found the family plot to be cliche and a bit predictable, but overall it was a well made movie and it was nice to see the series authors get Exc. Producer credits.

It was scarier than I anticipated judging by the reaction of 1 year-old, attending a 10pm film, sitting next to me. Not mine. No, my boys were at home, in bed and asleep for 3 hours at that point.

Seriously, what are people thinking these days?

The lights are In!

I have a 100 year old house here in New England. The attic is actually two rooms. One is my office, which I'm writing in as I type this. I've been working toward converting the other from our only source of storage, to a play room for the boys.

Thanks to some purging and reorganizing we paved the way for our electrician neighbor to install adequate lighting this weekend. I'll be patching walls and painting this week, and next Saturday the carpet arrives. Shortly after that my neighbor will tie it off by adding in some floorboard heating units.

The kids are gonna love it!

Reality Show in the Mix?

I'm very close to having my first TV pitch meeting. I've developed a show, and contacted a production company that expressed mild interest. So, I have retained legal representation and I'm currently putting the finishing touches on the proposal.

That's about all I can say for now. Stay tooned!

Joined a new Community

Hello all,

Recently joined a new community, THE NEW ENGLAND HORROR WRITERS . It's pretty exciting as I'm making some friends with the local talent. These are folks that primarily come from the prose or film school of ghoul. I think I'm the only comic dabbler at the moment. But that's ok, I'm looking to get some prose out there now, and I think these folks will help steer me in the right directions.

On a side note---WE'RE PUTTING THE BAND BACK TOGETHER! After nearly 8 years, The Brothers May are re-teaming with Wildstorm Artist Chris Gugliotti to reinvent the hit web comic Zennon3. We haven't decided on a title yet, and we are still working up a plot, but we had our first conference call last night and it went very well. We are all excited.

Stay Tooned!

Cool Stuff a comin'

Well, I've been on a bit of a tear since the New Year. After a year+ in personal turmoil, I started getting some help in the summer of '07. It's a long story that started with my PCP wrongly diagnosing me with Bi-Polar Disorder in the spring, talking things out with a psychologist in the summer, and correctly being diagnosed with ADD by a psychiatrist just after Christmas.

A change in lifestyle and some meds has made all the difference. 2007 saw the completion of 0 short stories, 0 comic scripts, 0 screenplays, o pitches of any kind.

January-to-date of 2008? 1 comic script, a synopsis of a 4-6 issue series, 2 graphic novel pitches in the works, a few short stories (comic and prose), landed an entertainment lawyer, and soon to be pitching a Reality TV Show to a major production company. Not enough, but a far cry from the the whole of 2007.

I'll be more specific when the contracts are signed. But '08 is looking up.

Stay Tooned!
